Snake Trap — steer the snake into the trap before the clock runs out

Snake Trap is a timed grid-puzzle game in LEVO's Popular Games category. Each level is a small walled board: you steer a snake, one cell at a time, into a highlighted trap zone — and the whole snake, head to tail, has to fit inside before the timer expires. Numbered cells grow or shrink your tail along the way, so the route you pick decides whether you'll fit at all. Snake Trap has 40 handcrafted levels, played in order, and it helps improve spatial reasoning, mental arithmetic, and decision making.

How to play

Each level shows a rectangular board with interior walls, your snake, and a shaded trap zone. Move the snake with the round four-way control pad below the board — one tap slides the head one cell left, right, up, or down. Walls and the board edge block movement, and the snake can never cross its own body. Cells marked "+N" grow your tail by that many segments as you pass over them; "−N" cells shrink it, tracked by a tail counter above the board. You win when every segment sits inside the trap zone. You lose three ways: the timer hits zero, no legal move remains, or a shrink cell cuts the tail below one segment. Try Again restarts the level instantly.

What it helps improve

  • Spatial reasoning — Fitting a growing, turning snake through walls is route visualization under constraints — it strengthens your ability to visualize and manipulate objects in space.
  • Mental arithmetic — The +/− cells force you to keep a running tail count against the trap size, improving quick calculation in your head.
  • Decision making — Every level is played against its own clock, so it helps you make faster, more effective choices under pressure.

Levels & progression

40 levels, played in order; the pre-game screen shows your highest completed level on a 40-level rail. Each level has its own time limit — Snake Trap is the only Popular game with a timer. A three-step auto-playing tutorial demonstrates the movement, growth, and trap rules before your first real level.

Questions & answers

Is Snake Trap timed?

Yes. Every level has its own countdown; if the timer reaches zero before the whole snake is inside the trap zone, the level fails and you can retry immediately.

How do you win a level in Snake Trap?

Move the snake so that every segment — head to tail — ends up inside the highlighted trap zone. Numbered cells grow (+) or shrink (−) the tail, so you often need a route that gets the snake to the right length first.

How many levels does Snake Trap have?

40 levels, played in order. Snake Trap lists three skills it helps improve in the app: spatial reasoning, mental arithmetic, and decision making.
