Path Finder — memorise the traps, then walk the map

Path Finder is a treasure-map memory game in LEVO's brain-training library. Each round, a map grid shows a start marker, a destination, and a scatter of traps — for just a moment. Then a folded-map overlay hides everything, and you draw a route from start to finish that avoids every trap you memorised. It sits on the Memory shelf and helps improve working memory, spatial memory, and sustained attention. There's no clock and no lives: the pressure is entirely in the remember phase, because once the map folds shut, the traps exist only in your head.

How to play

Each round begins with the map open: note the start and end markers and, above all, where the traps sit — they're only visible for a moment before the map folds shut. Then drag a continuous path, one adjacent square at a time (up, down, left, right), from the start marker to the destination. You can rewind: sliding back along your route trims it, and returning to the start resets it. Reaching the destination without crossing a trap scores the round and reveals the map; touching a hidden trap costs points, shows you the trap field again, and restarts the round with a fresh map — you retry until you cross safely. Clear every round to complete the level. Clean runs make the next map bigger and denser; mistakes ease it back.

What it helps improve

  • Working memory — The whole find phase is navigation from a mental snapshot — it strengthens your capacity to hold and use information temporarily.
  • Spatial memory — What Path Finder asks of you is literally a remembered map, enhancing recall of locations, layouts, and spatial relationships.
  • Sustained attention — One distracted glance during the reveal means guessing where the traps were — building endurance in maintaining focus.

Levels & progression

50 levels, each a series of rounds with no timer. Maps grow and trap density rises as levels climb, and within a level the difficulty adapts — a clean crossing pushes the next map up, a sprung trap brings it back toward baseline. The pre-game screen labels your standing with the five adaptive tiers from Novice to Expert.

Questions & answers

What happens if I step on a trap?

You lose points, the map unfolds to show the traps again, and the round restarts with a new layout. Rounds aren’t skipped on failure — you retry until you find a safe crossing, so a level always ends in a completed run.

Is there a time limit in Path Finder?

No. The only time pressure is the brief reveal at the start of each round; drawing the path itself is untimed.

Does Path Finder help improve spatial skills?

Its in-app benefit list names spatial memory — recalling locations, layouts, and spatial relationships — alongside working memory and sustained attention.

Five minutes. One game.
