Origami Match — find the matching pairs before the clock runs out
Origami Match is a pair-matching memory game in LEVO's brain-training library. Each round, a grid of origami symbols appears face-up for a brief remember window, then every card flips face-down — and you uncover the matching pairs from memory. It sits on the Memory shelf and helps improve working memory, visual recognition, and sustained attention. Unlike the rest of the shelf, Origami Match runs against a clock: each level gives you a time budget to clear a short series of boards, and the boards themselves grow or shrink with how cleanly you play.
How to play
A round starts with a "Get ready" beat, then the whole board flips face-up. Memorize where each origami symbol sits — the remember window is short, and it stretches as boards get bigger. The cards flip face-down and the find phase begins: tap two cards to reveal them. If the symbols match, the pair vanishes and you score; if they don't, both cards flash open, cost you points, and flip back down. Clear every pair to finish the board and slide in the next. Play a flawless board and the next grows — more cards, more symbol types; make mistakes and it eases back toward the level's baseline. Complete all of the level's boards before the timer runs out to finish the level.
What it helps improve
- Working memory — Every find phase runs entirely on the card positions you are holding in mind — it strengthens your capacity to hold and use information temporarily.
- Visual recognition — The origami symbols reward reading a whole board at a glance, sharpening how quickly you identify and remember visual patterns.
- Sustained attention — One lapse mid-board means re-searching cards you already saw — building endurance in maintaining focus.
Levels & progression
50 levels, each a short run of boards against a level-wide time budget. Every level opens with a small warm-up board, then adapts — flawless boards push the difficulty up, mistakes pull it back down — while the baseline rises across the 50 levels. Your pre-game screen shows the adaptive tier you have reached: Novice, Regular, Adept, Master, Expert.
Questions & answers
Is Origami Match timed?
Yes — it is the only game on LEVO’s Memory shelf with a clock. Each level has a single time budget covering all of its boards; if it runs out before the last pair is cleared, the level ends and you can retry it.
What happens when I pick two cards that don’t match?
Both cards flash open so you can see what they were, you lose points, and they flip back face-down. The board continues — a wrong pick costs score and time, not the level.
What skills does Origami Match help improve?
The game lists three: working memory, visual recognition, and sustained attention — the same benefits shown on its in-app intro screen.
